52-week Low
The 52-week Low is the lowest price a stock has traded at over the past year. You'll see this number quoted alongside the 52-week High on most financial websites and trading platforms—it gives you a quick sense of where a stock has been recently. Why it matters: some investors use it as a rough gauge of whether a stock is near the bottom of its recent range (potentially a buying opportunity) or near the top (potentially overheated). For example, if TechCorp's 52-week Low is $45 and it's currently trading at $120, that tells you the stock has had a big run-up. Just remember: a low price doesn't automatically mean a stock is a good deal—context matters.
